Q: Which vaccinations are most important for adults?
Everyone should get the flu vaccine once a year, and a one-time dose of Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis) vaccine. If you’re over 60, you should be immunized for shingles; if you’re over 65, for pneumonia as well. To help protect against several types of cancer, women up to age 26 should receive the HPV vaccine. If you’ve never had the chicken pox, get vaccinated; the condition can be more serious in adults. (For more information, go to cdc.gov/vaccines.)
